Updates

I've updated the Academic Calendar to reflect when we expect to be available in the studio and I've noted the Vernissage tomorrow night. Pat sounds excited about the pavilion now. It came together very well. I've also made some key updates to the studio web page too.

Update!

Here's a final roster of the teams:
Team (1) Captain Brielle, Mark, Lauren S.
Team (2) Captain Jack, Craig, Adrian, Forrest
Team (3) Captain Davin, Amanda, Jonathan
Team (4) Captain Will D., Stephen M., Lauren R.
Team (5) Captain Scott, Matt, Stephen Wo., Sean
Team (6) Captain Brice, Ginger, Justin B.

Schedule for Today: Thursday June 21st, 2007
11:00h Each team sends one team member to help unload material for Pat at McGill. Each team leader should make sure that one of you is there.
11:00h Everyone meets for studio discussion at McGill w/ Kerenza, Marti, and Brian.
13:30h Begin Workshop with Pat at McGill.

You'll be working every day through Sunday on this project. We'll be holding primary studio project meetings with you while all this is developing. We'll have a final review on either the 28th or 29th.

If something is not clear about this scheduling, respond immediately.

This work with Pat will be very performative- all about making. You must do only things that are well crafted and professional. You all know what these standards are. If someone on your team doesn't think that your work is showing precise craft assume it's not. All of this work will be incredibly public.. This in a place that supports something like ARTEFACT. You're part of this. Make well. It has to work- fully, operationally.

VISITORS!!!

So, we've got two visitors coming to see us- Kristen Mueller and a classmate and friend of hers from Yale. They'll arrive Saturday morning at 2:10AM. We need someone to meet them at the bus station and escort them to the apartment on Rue St-Hubert at that early hour. Any takers?
They'll be with us until Wednesday morning. We are updating the academic calendar to reflect a series of events where we'll "employ" the Yalies for your edification. Please look there. See the studio page and urban theory page for updates for each of those classes too.

In case you don't know Kristen- she graduated with her B.Sc.Arch in 2006 and is now an M.Arch. student at Yale. She was on the Montréal trip two years ago along with her buddies Grant Alford, Marissa Spears, Katie Martin, Sarah Smith, Sara Bullington, etc. I think that year of people have a lot in common with you folks, unlike the last year, which was more like coaching the Bad News Bears.

Cyclists Unite or Disband!

After a couple of wonderfully fun rides with Justin (Steve-Wo and Brice were with us once) and Marti I'm wondering if I should continue with the organized rides. I know that the lateness of my announcements and the pressing workload has been a factor but if these rides are not something you all want me to spend my time on then I'll reallocate and adjust. I'm not whining or worrying so don't think that feelings are hurt or anything. The rides are a program tradition. Some traditions are not for everyone or every time. Maybe the subject matter of the rides are not the right content. I'm really OK with just giving up on these things and letting you all find your city under your own wheels.

I'm just looking for some commentary on whether these things are worth our time. So, who will go? Under what conditions? How much lead time? Where would you want to go?

Like I said, I'm good to do away with that stuff.
