Questions $BlogItemTitle$>
Please bring any program questions you have to class in writing. It's frustrating to continue to hear questions like "what classes will be offered" and "what are the start and stop days" when I've answered each of those during at least three different class meetings.
Maybe if you all took notes, you'd have that info stored somewhere for yourselves other than in my head.
One more time:
We follow the university academic calendar. We'll start on May 30th. We'll take the period from June 30 to July 8 off. We'll meet for the first day of the second half on July 9th. (That's the only deviation from the university calendar- they will start on the 10th.) We'll end on August 8th. If you need to leave early for graduation, do it. If you can't be a part of the coursework for some period of time during the summer, go for it. If you miss too much of the coursework or cannot keep up, you'll fail. Don't ask me to calculate the moment of failure for you. I won't.
The basic courses offered will be Con Docs, Urban Theory, and Studio V. If you want anything other than that, bring it to my attention and start making it happen yourselves.
I think we can make these two courses serve as elective courses if you've taken them with someone else. Diversity Elective? I don't know. You ask what has to be done to get that through. Writing Intensive? I don't know. The urban theory will be writing intensive already. Why don't you try to get to take that version as an elective? Like I said, you've got to make these boutique needs workout. I'll help but you all are going to have to band together in groups that need things and go up to ten as a group to get what you want.
Anyone on the 10th Floor who says they're waiting on me for anything about your schedules or anything else about this program is barking up a dead tree. I've negotiated my part with the Chair of Instruction (Peters) and passed on teaching assignments to my colleagues Kerenza, Kuhn, and Jesse. If someone up there says I am holding something up you get their name, what they say I'm not doing, and the day and time it was said, and pass it on to me in an email. I'll see to it that they can't say that again ASAP.$BlogItemBody$>
